“The law says that every church gets to choose what it will do,” he said, meaning they can refuse to perform gay marriages….Robinson approves, saying the law protects religious freedom….The law spells out that churches, their employees and religious groups cannot be forced to officiate at gay marriages or provide other services….That drew fire from gay marriage supporters who said the state’s anti-discrimination laws would be unraveled by allowing people to discriminate at will.

Thursday, Democrats pulled supplemental funding bill for Iraq and Afghanistan . They did this because a combination of progressive opposition to the war itself, and Republican opposition to the IMF funding in the bill, would have sent it to defeat in the House. Now, they are looking to pass the bill by attaching a popular program creating $4,500 vouchers for new, fuel efficient vehicles when people they trade in older, less-efficient  vehicles

On 06/03/09, a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputy observed a suspicious vehicle on Keenan Cutoff near FM-2854, and attempted to make contact with the driver to check the welfare of the occupants in the vehicle. The driver began evading the deputy, and continued to flee on east on FM-2854, where a Precinct 2 Deputy Constable
